Walking

I am in training for going up a Mountain in Borneo in the New Year, so walking Bertie  the dog is now part of the daily routine, but he got a longer walk at Yarner than normal as I lost my glasses part way round  ( Luckily after retracing our steps I found them !)
This is Bertie at the start of the walk !

Christmas Gifts

The Silk Painting course went really well on Saturday and it gave me a few ideas for cards and presents that I could make
I have made a small silk  kit up which could be given to beginners , it includes a frame, some silk to fit x 2 a Gutta outliner tube and some silk pins. I am also doing Silk Workshop Vouchers which could be that present for Christmas that solves the problem of what to give her ( or him?)

Power to Yarner

We had another great session at a Silk Painting Family workshop at Yarner this week as it was half term. The amazing thing is that there is now power to use hair driers and maybe by next spring the flushing toilets may be functioning! Of course they work by rain harvesting so now is the time to start filling the water containers.

Summers Over !

It is definitely now the  end of the summer as we took the last of the bunting down from the Riverside Mill with Max and his Cherry Picker - luckily no bike race this time and it came down much faster than it went up! It was little dark at 7am still , but thanks to Kate Martin for turning out and directing traffic it all went smoothly.

Up the tower!

This mornings little expedition was up into the tower to hang bunting from there - it took two attempts, as the first bit was too small, so we had a fair bit of exercise going up and down the ladder - not good for Simon and I who don't like heights!
If you look carefully you can see Simon and Stephens arms out of the windows holding the bunting!

The cafe looks really festive ready for the tea party on Friday afternoon - don't forget to come and see me on Saturday making Bunting again!

More Extreme Bunting !

Hanging out of windows, climbing up ladders and dangling from strange places ! All in a days work  of putting up bunting around the Riverside Mill, The Tourist Information centre and other key places in Bovey Tracey. We have nearly finished , just more to hang from the top tower tomorrow morning - do you think people have noticed yet?
